Who’s who on the Parish Council

We currently have 3 vacancies. So, if you are interested, read on…

Serving as a councillor on any parish or town council is controlled by the rules and regulations laid out in the Local Government Act 1972 (LGA 1972). Hockliffe Parish Council has the capacity for 7 serving councillors. In many cases, those who put themselves forward for a seat on the parish council are uncontested.

Who’s who on the Council

Hockliffe Parish Council currently consists of three elected members,  and a Clerk to the Council.

The full council usually meets on the 2nd working Monday of every month except for August at Hockliffe Lower School, Woburn Road, Hockliffe. you can find further information regarding this on each meeting agenda once published.

The Chair and Vice-Chair are elected annually. There has to be a quorum to pass resolutions, i.e. a minimum of three or one-third of the Council.

Councillors are elected for a 4-year term. If a vacancy occurs during this term, either an election or by co-option can fill it. There is currently one vacancy for a Parish Councillor. For further information, you can find out more from the following link – becoming a Parish Councillor.

The next election year is 2027.
