Parish Responsibilities

Hockliffe Parish Council is responsible for many other aspects of the village environment.

Among the many things we look after are:

  • Bus shelters
  • Defibrillators – see below
  • Grass cutting on the Village Green
  • Hockliffe Cemetery
  • Recreation Ground
  • Seats and Benches

Street lighting, grass cutting of verges, roads, footpaths and drains maintenance are the responsibility of either Central Bedfordshire Council for the village or National Highways (NH) for the A5.

Direct links to report incidents or issues, not the responsibility of the Parish Council:
Central Bedfordshire Council – use the following link to Fix My Street

National Highways are responsible for fixing problems on the motorways and other major roads like the A5 in Dunstable. However, you can report issues through us and we’ll send directly to National Highways. Incidents on the A5 can also be reported by telephone on: 0300 123 5000.

For further information, please contact the Parish Clerk to the Council, who will be happy to give advice and assistance.
